A friend of ours was visiting from Berlin and he gifted us Bisongrass Vodka. I came up with this recipe on a hot New York afternoon. I yearned for a break from the heat and humidity that New York summers are known for. I promise that this fresh summery cocktail drink recipe will energize you!
Ingredients:
- 2 p Bisongrass Vodka (Or any other good quality Vodka)
- 1 p Agave Nectar
- 1 p Lime juice
- 3 p Fresh squeezed watermelon juice
- 6 Thai basil leaves
- 3 Dried lime leaves
- 2 Tablespoons coarse salt
- ½ Teaspoon Organic cayenne pepper
Method:
Muddle the basil leaves and the lime leaves in a mixing glass. Add bisongrass vodka, lime juice, agave nectar and fresh squeezed watermelon juice.
Shake vigorously with 3-4 icecubes.
Line the rim of the cocktail glass with the salt and cayenne pepper mix. I usually place the cup in the freezer for 10-15 minutes, take it out and overturn it in a plate of the salt mix. The frosted glass holds the salt better on the rim. Strain the mixture into the glass. Top with a little fresh watermelon juice and serve.
Watermelon and vodka…. Really it should b a bliss
