If you are looking for a sweet treat recipe for the holiday season, look no further! These light, fluffy churros rolled in brown sugar and cinnamon and finished with a cajeta (Goat’s milk dulce de leche) dip will blow your minds away! Traditionally served with a chocolate dip, churros are really quick and easy to make. These warm churros on a cold wintery day will lighten up the mood and get you singing Christmas carols.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon finely ground white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup fine brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying

Method:

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, 2 tbsp sugar, salt & olive oil. Mix thoroughly until you form a dough ball. Fill the dough in a pastry bag with the right attachment (the piping end should have serrations to get the churros look) If you don’t have the attachment its fine. It’s going to taste the same

Heat oil for frying in a deep vessel to around 360F. Pipe out strips of the dough into the oil and fry until a crisp golden brown. Drain on paper towel.

Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a plate & roll the churros in the mixture to form a light coating. Serve with a cajeta dip which I prefer to a chocolate or dulce de leche dip. The taste is very unique and not something you find in restaurants.
