Naseberry & Banana Açai Bowl

It’s Earth day today and to celebrate we decided to make these beautiful naseberry banana açai bowls. Naseberry, commonly known as sapodilla is the fruit from an evergreen tree native to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. It is also eaten widely in India where it is known as ‘Chikoo’. It has a very deep, sweet & unique flavor that I love. I bought frozen Chikoo from an online Indian store – fretch.com

Açai bowls are packed with antioxidants and nutrients. Açai is a small, round purple berry native to Brazil and is considered a “superfood” and gives a dark chocolaty color to your bowls. You can make your own bowl with the same base and a variety of toppings! For the base bowl I used a mixture of yogurt and almond milk and added a dash of ghee oil Açai bowls are so simple to make, I’d rather make them at home than spend $12-15 at a store for breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons açai powder
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 8 no. raw almonds
  • 1 tsp ghee oil
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar
  • ½ banana (frozen)
  • 1 cup naseberry (frozen)

Toppings:

  • Chia seeds
  • Dried raisins
  • Sweetened coconut flakes
  • Half banana sliced
  • Naseberry sliced

INSTRUCTIONS

Place all the bowl ingredient in a food processor and blend until smooth.

Pour into two bowls and top with topping ingredients! It’s as simple as that 🙂
